Privacy

The short version: TeeBee keeps your family's information on your TV. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell or share anything about you for advertising. An account (just your email) is only needed if you buy TeeBee Plus.

Who we are

TeeBee is made by Lumina Brands (“we”, “us”). For anything about privacy, email hello@teebee.tv.

What stays on your TV

The shows and movies you add, your settings, your kids' interests from the welcome tour, screen-time sessions, TV hours and daily limits, and how much was watched today are saved on your TV, inside the TeeBee app. We don't have a copy. Uninstalling TeeBee deletes all of it.

Your phone and your TV

TeeBee's grown-up controls run on your phone and talk straight to your TV over your home Wi-Fi, using a private code from the QR code on the TV. That traffic stays inside your home network. Anyone on your Wi-Fi who has that code can use the controls, so share it only with grown-ups in your home.

What TeeBee looks up

  • Show pictures and names. When you add a show by link, your TV fetches that show's public page from the streaming service (or YouTube) to get its title and picture.
  • Opening shows. When your kids pick a show, TeeBee opens it in that streaming app. What happens inside Netflix, Disney+ and the rest is covered by their own privacy policies.
  • Knowing what's playing. With your permission (Android calls it “notification access”), TeeBee sees what's playing and how long is left, so it can end at the right moment. It doesn't read your notifications or messages, and this never leaves your TV.
  • Checking in with teebee.tv. Now and then your TV asks teebee.tv whether TeeBee is still in beta, and, if you've signed in, whether your TeeBee Plus is active. Those requests carry no information about your family.

Family pictures (optional)

If you choose to make TeeBee's pictures from a family photo, the photo and what you tell us about each person (like “girl, age 3”, no names needed) are sent from your phone to our picture service, which asks OpenAI to draw them. The finished pictures are sent back to your TV and saved there. We don't store your photo or the pictures on our servers. OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days to prevent abuse, and doesn't use them to train its models.

Your TeeBee account and payments (TeeBee Plus)

TeeBee works without an account. If you buy TeeBee Plus, you sign in with your email: we email you a code, and your TV and phone remember a signed note that they belong to that email. We use your email only for sign-in codes, receipts and support, and never for marketing unless you ask for it.

Payments are handled by Stripe, which keeps your card details; we never see them. Stripe keeps your email, purchase and subscription so your TV can check that Plus is on and you can manage it.

Who helps us run TeeBee

We use a few services to run TeeBee. They only get what they need to do their job, and we don't sell or share your information for advertising.

  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
  • Brevo: sends sign-in code emails.
  • Vercel: hosts this website and our small servers.
  • OpenAI: draws family pictures, if you use them.
  • ImprovMX: forwards emails you send to hello@teebee.tv to our inbox.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect TeeBee and the people who use it.

How long we keep things

  • Sign-in codes aren't stored at all; each one simply stops working after 15–30 minutes.
  • Your email and purchase records stay with Stripe while you have an account, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Emails you send us stay in our inbox for as long as we need them to help you.
  • Server logs are kept briefly by our host, for security.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies or trackers. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (like IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.

Children

TeeBee is for families with young children, and it's set up and controlled by parents. We don't collect personal information from children: kids only see and use the TV screen, which stays on your TV. Accounts and purchases are for adults only. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Your rights and choices

  • Remove any show, setting or family picture from the phone controls at any time, and uninstall TeeBee to delete everything it saved on your TV.
  • Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it: email hello@teebee.tv from your account email. We'll answer within 30 days. (We keep payment records the law requires us to keep.)
  • We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, wherever you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects what we do with your information, we'll tell you in the app first.
