Turn off autoplay, app by app

TeeBee ends screen time gently, but streaming apps love to roll straight into the next episode and play previews while kids browse. Switch those off.

Easiest first: Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video keep this per profile, so do it once on their website for the kids profile and it follows to the TV. YouTube and HBO Max keep some of it per device: do those on the TV.

Netflix

  1. Go to netflix.com/settings/playback (or Account › Profiles › the kids profile › Playback settings).
  2. Turn off Autoplay next episode and Autoplay previews.

Disney+

  1. Profile icon › Edit Profiles › the kids profile.
  2. Turn off Autoplay and Background Video, then Save.

Prime Video

  1. On primevideo.com, choose the kids profile › Account & Settings › Player.
  2. Turn off Autoplay and autoplay trailers. Do it on the website: the TV app may not offer it.

HBO Max

  1. On the TV: Settings › turn off Autoplay Episodes.
  2. Then Playback › turn off Autoplay Previews (and Preview Audio).

Hulu

  1. On the TV: open the left menu › Settings › turn off Autoplay.

Paramount+

  1. In the TV app: Settings › Autoplay › Off, where your TV's app offers it. Some don't yet.

Peacock

Peacock doesn't offer a reliable switch yet. On some TVs it's in the profile's edit screen (the pencil under the profile).

YouTube

  1. On the TV: YouTube › Settings › Autoplay › Off.
  2. YouTube Kids keeps autoplay off unless a grown-up turns it on. To lock it off: YouTube › Settings › Family Center › your child › Disable autoplay.

Apple TV

  1. Apple TV app › Settings › turn off Play Next Episode and Play a Recommendation.

PBS KIDS

The PBS KIDS app has no autoplay switch. TeeBee's timer and gentle ending still work on top of it.
